We watched an episode of The Simpsons and analyzed the satire. Students explained the argument and techniques the writers used in the episode. (Satire page on Canvas has the script and a link to the playlist for the episode.)
Students took some time to fill in the "L" column of the KWL chart with things they learned about satire and handed it in before the end of class.
